Hi, Filippo! Thank you for coming. Could you tell us about yourself and give us your team’s introduction?

Hello everyone, thank you for inviting me. It’s a pleasure to be here!
I’m Filippo Ricci and I’m the Co-founder and Senior Operation Advisor of Jigen. I’m business owner of an Italian sneaker brand RFR Fabiano Ricci and I’ve always been part of the fashion industry because of my family tradition. I previously worked for Gucci and such experience helped me a lot to grow professionally. Moreover, I’m a crypto enthusiast since 2017 and I followed all the evolution around the NFT space, that gave me the input to create Jigen and challenge the luxury sector! Our team is spread worldwide from Canada to Japan and is composed by a mix of backgrounds in blockchain (tech-business side) and luxury.

Thank you. We received a lot of interesting questions from our subscribers. Let’s go straight to the topic. What is the main idea of JIGEN? What are the main objectives of this project?
JIGEN
To make it short, Jigen represents the first NFT gateway for Fashion and Luxury items in the metaverse and gaming ecosystem. We want to deliver a unique purchase experience, offering to our users asset-backed NFTs that they can also bring to different metaverses as wearables, generating a new economy for the luxury goods industry.
Jigen focuses on solving typical problems for brands through the use of blockchain technology such as counterfeiting, while allowing different players in the fashion and luxury items industry to venture into new ways of sharing unique designs of their products using NFTs.

Your project name seems to be very interesting. Does it have any story behind it?
JIGEN
Thank you! Yes, Jigen means “dimension” in Japanese and the name was given because our vision from day 1 was to create a new ecosystem focused on bridging the real and the virtual dimension thanks to the use of the blockchain. In fact, looking at the logo design, “IO” calls to the binary code as connection point to the two dimensions 😁

The luxury industry has suffered a lot from counterfeits, which are difficult to distinguish from the original. How JIGEN can grant a guarantee of value and authenticity for manufacturer and consumers.
JIGEN
Thanks to the RFID technology we will be able to associate the specific item with the NFT on the blockchain. This means that the item can be proven authentic by the original purchaser.
Our asset backed NFTs are unique because once claimed our smart contract changes the metadata associated with the ERC721, making the NFT dynamic. This gives a lot of advantages compared to the traditional method of burning the token and open the way to several new interactions with our exclusive drops.

JIGEN is the first NFT gateway for fashion and luxury goods in the metaverse and gaming ecosystem. Are you currently focusing only on fashion and luxury goods? Are you planning to add paintings, sculptures? Maybe music in the future?
JIGEN
At the moment we decided to start with fashion and luxury because of our team’s background and expertise, but we might consider in the future to explore other interesting fields, especially considering how much potential there is in such a new sector.

Which luxury brands (or niches of brands) do you intend on targeting first? Perhaps you can share the preliminary agreements that have been reached so far?
JIGEN
We just concluded an important speech in the Milano Fashion week together with our Italian partner Filo Blu: we had more than 80 companies from the fashion attending the event and we did a significant networking activity. Right now, it is essential for us to test our technology and start with a pilot test in order to attract the big names in the sector, with whom we already have contacts! I’m sure the genesis collection you will see soon will amaze most of you 😊

An extremely interesting topic for discussion is the possibility of exchanging NFT for a real product. Theoretically, there are several implementation possibilities. Will NFT be burned if the user wants to get a real analog? Or will NFT correspond to the actual product that the user will own? Who will guarantee the real product authenticity?
JIGEN
As I said before we intend to create dynamic NFTs rather than just burning the token before shipping the merch. This is clearly a new way to use the NFT technology and we’re working on several things to deliver the best experience as possible to our audience. The real product authenticity is guaranteed by the mix between RFID and blockchain tx, so that there is now way to put in circulation a fake article.

It’s great to see big brands diving into the NFT space. As we all know, fashion is the ability to present the product and reach a wider audience. We’d love to hear what value-added services JIGEN can provide to all these fashion brands.
JIGEN
Jigen can be a game changer for all those brands that want to approach the NFT space without having infrastructure and connections required to have a successful launch of their products. We’re giving them support in all fields, from the creation of smart contracts to the marketing exposure in the nft communities. We aim to coordinate their web3 strategy thanks to our expertise and help them to get the maximum results from the most influential socials for crypto. Discord is definitely a strategic tool that all companies should consider, but it’s still far from their field of knowledge as they’re focused on more traditional channels like Instagram.

One of the functionalities of $JIG is that it provides exclusive access to its owners. Can you tell us more about this? What are the privileges that we would have, that other users will not?
JIGEN
As planned from the beginning, JIG will have mainly three functions: exclusive access to our NFTs and privileges within the platform, staking and governance. Holders will be eligible to purchase our exclusive items. Depending on their amount of staked tokens they might have higher chance to get the rarest pieces of the collection or even to be airdropped with exclusive NFTs!
Moreover, one feature that I really want to bring the attention on is that 60% of all fees collected from each NFT trade on the secondary market will be used for $JIG buybacks and burns. It means a steady upward pressure to the price in the long term, especially when our ecosystem will be at full capacity.

Congratulations on the successful launch of the $JIG token! For any crypto project, this is an important step. At what stage in your development are you currently working the hardest? Perhaps you can indicate several priority areas and share some plans for the upcoming year?
JIGEN
Thank you! Our launch went really smooth and we’ve been able to develop a strong community around Jigen. We’re currently launching our staking platform and in the meantime we’re working on several aspects of our Genesis Collection which will be the catalyst for the upcoming weeks. We’ll release more news in the next days and weeks. Our goal for the rest of the year is to bring in our ecosystem exciting brands and create with them new shopping experiences to engage our community and their customers.
